Last week, our team had the immense pleasure of hosting an unforgettable pre-wedding celebration for a lovely couple, Jana and Allan, at the breathtaking Carnell Estate. Nestled in the heart of Scotland, the estate’s picturesque grounds provided the perfect backdrop for a traditional Highland Games event. This truly captured the spirit of both the bride and groom’s cultures.
As the sun shone brightly over the lush gardens, Jana, hailing from America, and Allan, a proud Scot, arrived with their closest friends and family. They first gathered for an alfresco lunch that set the tone for the day’s festivities. The atmosphere was filled with joy, laughter, and anticipation as the guests prepared for the unique blend of traditions that lay ahead.
Highland Games Events across the UK
Post-lunch, the group was divided into two clans, with the bride and groom leading the charge as Chieftains. Jana’s team was proudly named Clan Ppkkawww (a name that required a hearty yell). Allan’s Clan Atlantic were adorned in tartan and sporting the iconic “See You Jimmy” hats. Both teams were ready to embrace the competitive spirit of the Highland Games.
The activities kicked off with a series of traditional events, each more thrilling than the last. From the challenging Caber Toss and precise Archery to the exhilarating Axe Throwing and robust Stone Throw. Every participant brought their A-game! The Claymore Hold tested their endurance, while the camaraderie and good-natured rivalry kept the energy levels high.
Both clans showed remarkable skill and enthusiasm. The support and cheer from their fellow clan members adding to the fun. The air was filled with banter and humorous one-liners that had everyone, including our team, in stitches. It was clear that this group was not only competitive but also incredibly spirited and lively.

The day’s events culminated in the ultimate decider: the Tug of War. With both clans neck and neck, the anticipation was palpable. In a thrilling and hard-fought battle, the teams pulled with all their might, embodying the strength and unity of their respective clans.
While the competition was fierce, the true winners were Jana and Allan, whose love and joy brought everyone together for an extraordinary day.
